Lyrics
Well of course it was cold and blowin’ and the snow quite comin’ down.
Nay could you see the treetops for winter’s precious gown
Wrapped us tight inside our shanty all our rooms fell quite opaque
We’ll be stayin’ at home this Christmas time, a family’s fruitful fate
CHORUS: Hail pass the Christmas Ale, it’s time to move your feet.
The ruffle & shuffle will keep you warm til springtime we do greet.
Now harshful winter’s challenge tis a fate we all decide
Perspective should ride the front seat and sometimes just let him drive
For when fear and folly whisper its best to just decline, they’ll a muck and rub it in, not once, but every time.
CHORUS:
For mother’s Christmas be grateful, she clothes and feeds with pride
She decorates and celebrates and rarely chooses sides
She warms your cup with love and luck and at last, she tucks you in
With tales of what and wonder when Christmas time begins
CHORUS:
For Father’s Christmas show pure respect, he’s building a family tree
He’s up at dusk and foraging for the family’s meat and heat.
A daily grind that’s not so fine with a heart as pure as gold.
So go hug your dad and kiss his cheek and tell him he’s not so old.
CHORUS:
For lad and lass’s offspring, you carry the family torch
Will you burn it bright and use it’s might till there’s nothing left but scorch?
Or will you favor and savor the blessed gift your family they did form?
Winter’s Christmas is perfect time to tell ‘em you love them more.
